Deli of the Year 2013 coming soon...

Olives Et Al's Deli of the Year competition's back again this Spring! Launching now, with slightly new timings, in May for it's 4th year! In the past 3 years, over 600 delis and farm shops have been nominated, 30,000 deli fans have voted for their favourite delis and the winners and runners up have all enjoyed masses of local and national press resulting in more people through their doors and a sustained uplift in sales of up to 45%!

So if you've voted for your favourite deli, give yourself a big pat on the back and a big thank you from us. Because of your support, delis all over the UK have a big reason to shout about how great they are and real feedback from their own customers to show how important they are to their local communities.

If you've not voted yet, worry not!  Deli of the Year 2013's set to be bigger and better than ever and will be launching again very soon...

In the meantime, check out the incredible deli who won Deli of the Year 2012...

Delilah in Nottingham - winner of the Olives Et Al Deli of the Year 2012

This deli is simply a place where you want to spend a whole day, eating grazing platters, drinking amazing coffee, tasting and choosing, and all the while just listening to the banter of the deli staff – it is THE best fringe food event ever!”  Judge’s comments, Deli of the Year 2012.

Delilah Deli Cafe in Nottingham has been named as the Olives Et Al Deli of the Year 2012. Hundreds of delis were nominated in 2012, thousands of votes were cast by customers of delis and a team of experienced food and retail judges scrutinised each deli, visiting the 10 regional finalists and Delilah Fine Foods shone out at each stage of judging.

Deli of the Year was created, and is organised and run, by the Dorset based artisan food specialists, Olives Et Al. The competition's designed in such a way that it allows every business that enters to showcase itself by engaging with staff, customers and their local community. The entry process also helps entrants to clarify and develop what they do for the benefit of long-term business growth. In this way the Deli of the Year competition benefits every business that enters regardless of whether it scoops one of the main awards.

“Olives Et Al created Deli of the Year three years ago because we wanted to celebrate delis and give them an opportunity to shine in their own communities. We set out to find the deli with the best 'Deli Attitude' – which is a term that neatly wraps up all the good things about great delis - unique atmosphere, outstanding service, great choice, boundless energy and food knowledge and above all a feeling that customers really value the place.  That's what Deli of the Year is and we are thrilled for Delilah’s team who were mentioned over and over again by the judges,” explained Giles Henschel, organiser of Deli of the Year and artisan food producer based in Dorset.

The Deli of the Year 2012 Runners Up are Ultracomida, in Aberystwyth, Wales and Bloomfields, in Highworth near Swindon.

The Olives Et Al Deli Of The Year is fully supported by the Guild of Fine Food and Fine Food Digest - please see their online newsletter for the latest update and news about the Deli Of The Year winners...
